“Growing A Mass Movement”

by Pamela Satterwhite

As difficult a truth to face as it is, we must face it: only a mass movement can unseat ‘Power.’

As difficult a truth to face as it is, we must face it: only unseating ‘Power’ will enable a future based on freedom.

As difficult a truth to face as it is, we must face it: no matter how light your step, your personal footprint, there is a debt…to those who’ve gone before, to the many hands that have made our world, and to all whose dreams lie abandoned and decayed because we who understand this mess the podrunks have made have refused to act, refused to be the reverence required to bring ‘Power’ down.

As more and more of us begin taking responsibility not just for our individual lives, but for the future, we inevitably will face the fact that the mass movement is our true work, because only a movement can get the U.S. state off the backs of the enslaved globally…because only a movement can release the power, the untapped energy, reclaim the ‘waste’ of every abandoned human, and allow the blossoming of human possibilities after millennia of suppression…because only a movement will bring us a world in which we can be whole again.

The only way individual refusal can blossom into “the beginning of the reversal” is if we consciously choose to grow it.

We can only achieve the synergistic expansion of our effect if its seeds are systematically sown as far and wide as we can sow them.

And we cannot fertilize our seeds if we have contempt for the earth in which we hope to plant them. The absence of reverence is the essence of this system and refusing to refute that absence has all too often been the Achilles heel of the Left.

Growing a movement for generalized freedom means giving to the earth and to the people around you, without hope of a return, when there's no cause for faith…with trust in human solidarity when callousness abounds…and with a unified consciousness emboldened by a unifying theory.
