“We Have To Make A Loud Noise: Essence Of Activism – Two”
by Pamela Satterwhite
When I go outside and look around, I don’t see enough…life – verdure preening, lush-life greening, unbound productivity, unleashed creativity, unrestrained fecundity, soul-releasing partying, spirit-freeing unity…
…I don’t see good fellowship.
I don’t see happiness.
The papier-mâché gurus tell us that happiness is a “choice.” As if we really are single bits of flotsam on the sea…who need only to turn from the gloomy deep and face upward to the glorious sun to find our happiness, free there to bask as long as we choose…in forgetfulness…
…as if there really are no Great Whites watching us…
Our happiness has been stolen.
Because we had it once.
Once it was our birthright.
Every now and then we’re given a glimpse that agitates ancient memories.
When I watch the Michael Jackson video...
...I’m floored by his brilliance, his ability to capture the essence of things so concisely and make a gift of it back to us in such a way that we feel it in our bodies, not just think it in our minds…
…in such a way that it vibrates all our strings …
…in such a way that it stimulates our wholeness.
We have to make a loud noise. We have to start feeling it – start feeling what we want – in our bodies...not just think it in our minds.
